Dear Friends,

Please give the advantage of a computer to a youngster to assist them with their education this fall. Imagine what a difference you’ll be able to provide with your donation. Each donation of $100 will provide a computer to a low-income family.

Our goal is to provide up to 400 computers to needy families. All donations received between Aug. 1, 2010 and Sep. 15, 2010 will apply toward this campaign. Add your name to the list of donors for this campaign (see http://www.computermentors.org/Back-To-School.html). All recipients will be qualified as low-income according to HUD income standards.

It’s not just about the computer, it’s about the learning! A+ Graphic
It’s not about the computer, it’s about the learning. It's not about giving a computer, it's about building a future. Each computer will come loaded with 13 titles of educational software to assist with math, vocabulary, and writing skills as well as a full slate of productivity software from Microsoft. All computers are Internet ready and newly refurbished so that they can start making an educational difference in the home right away.

About Computer Mentors Group
Computer Mentors Group, Inc. (www.computermentors.org) is a “digital divide” non-profit organization comprised of computer professionals, and others interested in the future job opportunities of disadvantaged youths. CMG started serving the Tampa Bay area in 1997 and last year served over 700 low-income families by providing either a computer, training, or both. The group’s flagship program is called the Youth Computer Certification & Ownership Program. Youth involved in the program build a computer to take home and have the opportunity of earning a college credit by completing the 6-month course and passing the certification test. The group also provides scholarships, and has a summer internship job program for those that have achieved certification.
